I've recently purchased a sager laptop to use for light gaming. At purchase I chose to upgrade the wireless card to the Intel ac 8260 from the intel 3165.

Upon receiving the laptop, I've gotten horrible performance while gaming. Games constantly lag out and have extremely high latency. I've updated the driver and everything and it hasn't changed. While the laptop is plugged in via Ethernet cable it works fine. I know wireless is generally non optimal for gaming but I was wondering is there any way to get better performance out of this wireless card?

The last laptop I had was an 8yrar old toshibia satellite and I never experienced this kind of problem.

Ya the performance doesn't change, I'm already maybe 10ft from the router. No walls or anything in the way. Bring in the same place with the old laptop I don't have these issues

For me the fix was a different internet provider. I had been using frontier and a frontier router/ modem and when I switched to mediacom and a mediacom router/ modem it solved the issue I was having. I'm not sure why my old laptop worked with the frontier one and the new laptop did not.

I also went into the device manager and manually updated the wireless card. I've noticed it doesn't revive automatic updates so you could try that.
