Has anyone had genuine success overclocking with an Intel DZ68BC motherboard?

I have read up on the VRMs problem (after I got the board) and will try to mod a fan blowing down at an angle at them moving along side the heatsink. And reaching 4.4 GHz would be peachy.

I am finally moving on from my Socket 775 Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3L motherboard running a Q6600 at 3.6 GHz.

i7 2600K
Cooler Master Hyper 212

Generic Kingston 8x2 GB DDR3 Ram

Crossfire with two Sapphire HD 7870s
Antec HCG 850W

Seagate FireCuda 2TB (Was planning on taking a 1/3 partition for the OS and a 2/3 partition for media.
Not really wanting to put the money up for a separate SSD for the OS.)

Anyway, this question is really about overclocking this Intel motherboard.

Is this task really impossible?

A significant upgrade from a Core 2 Duo Quad Q6600 at 3.6 with 8 GB of DDR2 ram and a single HD 7870 is what I am wanting. 4.4 GHz is just a nice even number. Not sure how far most 2600ks can be pushed with decent air cooling. I don't run super hot systems, so I want my temps safe but pushing a little.
