Intel Ethernet Connection I218-V - "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

Hello all!

Currently I am unable to connect to the internet using Ethernet. I built this computer last year and updated to Windows 10 a few weeks ago (everything was working perfect after the updated). This morning my computer was working fine, then I left my computer to sleep, came back after a few hours, and now I am unable to connect to the internet via Ethernet.

Using a WiFi adapter I can connect to the wireless internet just fine. I know the Ethernet port works correctly because I am able to connect using a separate laptop. Looking at the device manager, I see the following... (please follow the link to view the issues)

Essentially, I get this "Device Status"
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers (downloading fresh drivers from Intel's website) and it has still not worked.

I would appreciate any advice you can give to resolve the issue.

Try getting the the latest driver from the mobos website based on your OS. Might also try disabling the WiFi adapter in Device Manager, some mobos don't allow both to be active at the same time

Only two things come to mind

1) Have to tried turning off the computer?
2) I found a recommendation to try making sure all power-saving features are disabled for the device under device manager.

On this same community there is the same problem solved by removing all power (unplug, remove battery, ideally the onboard CMOS battery too)
