Hello,

I am planning to build a budget PC.

I made a list with the parts I want to order, but I have my doubts if it will run well.
Will this build run the daily taks like Office, Web browsing and 1080P video watching?

I am also wondering if I need to get an aftermarket cooler like the Cm Hyper 212 evo for some overclocking. (+-4 Ghz )

It should be fine - I built a PC based around a Haswell Core i3 3.5GHz with 8GB RAM, and it basically flies through Mint Linux. That Pentium is actually a decent chip, and should perform similarly to the above-mentioned i3. The only thing I can think of, is the two cores and lack of hyper-threading may harm its multitasking ability slightly, but it should be at the very least, a decent home office PC.

The stock Intel cooler is fine if you're not overclocking - the above i3 idles around 25C, and hits around 50-55C at ~60% load (and is quiet).

I just built a similar system (same CPU) for my grandson and his parents/family. It works just fine for that use.

If you're going to overclock it (WHY?), then a better cooler would help. But for your stated use, overclocking will not be any benefit.

The overclocking part is just because I read so much about it. It is so easy to do it. And I want to give it a try. Thank you for the answers.
Still some people recommend the AMD 6800 for example. I guess I'll stick with the pentium though.

"Easy" but with that use, no real benefit.

In that case, I may probably just leave it. If it won't show any difference for those tasks, better not. I won't play games with this computer. Just the Office etc.
