I am pretty stuck for money at the moment and have made a previos post explaining I have about £150 to build a gaming PC that play GTA at around 60FPS.

I have been recommended the follow and after doing research of the G4560 paired with a 750ti i have laying around It seems like a good combo.

https://gyazo.com/b75f415cad70fa0d46e3cacdb62018f9

Recommended Build:
CPU - Intel Pentium G4560
MOBO - Gigabyte H110M-S2H
RAM - Crucial Balistix Sport PC2400 8GB

I want to know if there is anything on the Haswell socket, with it being older maybe it being cheap but with the same amount or if not better performance for the same price?

Any help would be appreciated :)

One of the Crucial kits is generic, and the Crucial ballistix isn't as good as the XPG in terms of quality, the XPG also looks nicer and it costs 1 quid more, so it was a no brainer from there.
yes the i3 4160 or i3 4170 etc will do just fine aswell or even a second hand i5 4460 which are findable for a good price.

I had an i3 4160 myself a year ago paired with a r9 380 and worked just wonderful so an gtx 750ti will be no problem for it and you will get the same performance as a g4560 :)

No, a haswell i3 would be roughly equivalent but will more than likely be quite a bit more expensive than that Pentium. Thats about as cheap as I would recommend anyone go for a cpu for gaming. Personally I would wait for ryzen 3 to release and see what that offers.

If buying new, not much chance of haswell being cheaper unless you happen to have ddr3 left over from a previous pc and ddr4 with the g4560 would increase your budget. You might find used haswell for around that price. If going that route, an equivalent would be an i3-4170. Older pentium g cpu's were dual core without hyper threading, the 4560 is a dual core with hyper threading like an i3.

A g4560 or core i3 should average around 60fps but don't be surprised if there are fps drops in some areas below 60fps. It likely won't maintain 60fps solid all the time.

Here's a benchmark of gtaV on a haswell i3 paired with a 750ti. At 1080p, fxaa, high settings and 50% distance scaling fps was between 42 and 59fps. Turning down some features or disabling fxaa may improve fps some, could just take fiddling with the graphics settings to stay closer to 60fps. Even an i7 4790k was dropping to 47fps which suggests it's the gpu causing those lows.

I am fully aware that that is not a complete system as I have build a computer before. Iv come from AMD on a fx6300 that I sold. I have been without a PC for 3 months now and want to get another one on a tight budget and then upgrade it in the future. what is wrong with the H110 ?

What kind of games did you play on your i3 4160 and at what fps ? was it a decent runnign system ?

nothing is wrong with it as long as you have a skylake CPU to go with it.

Read what I said.
BIOS needs to be updated to the Kaby Lake BIOS out of the box, H110 is from the last generation of CPUs but is backwards compatible provided the BIOS is updated.
However, those manufactured before the release of Kaby Lake (The significantly large majority of them) will simply not boot with a Kaby Lake CPU (That's what the G4560 is) meaning that you need to get a 200 series board.
H110s are pretty crap anyway in terms of connections, components and quality.
B250 at least, only a tiny bit more regardless.
Save up some more cash, you can't do much with that atm.

Yes Gta V is just a benchmark of components, I was getting around 50 FPS ish with a FX6300 and settings turned up with some turned down. so would you recommend a i3 6100 or g4560? This is my 2nd Intel system, my first being on the 775 platform many years ago. Then went over to AMD on an athlon x4 640 and then an FX6300

Yeah I already have a 500w PSU, case, GPU, HDD and SSD.

Yeah I get where you are coming from, just sick of not having a pc and thought if i get the G4560 I can swap it for an i3 or i5 in the future, I know the motherboard is crap haha supper budget.

something like this then ? https://goo.gl/ihQnnf

What makes you pick the ADATA ran over the crucial ?

If price is the same the g4560 with a compatible 200 series kabylake motherboard is the better route. If nothing else for being newer, less hassle if you decide to upgrade to a stronger cpu in the somewhat near future. In a year or two kabylake i5's or i7's will be easier to source and more readily available than haswell if the market there is anything like it is in the U.S. Also should you have any issues with ram or wish to upgrade down the road ddr4 will be more common moving forward. Ddr3 may become more expensive or harder to source.
