I want to know if Intel HD 3000 is god enough for playing World of Warcraft. I only play WOW and nothing else.

My Laptop Specifications: Lenovo B490
Intel Core i3 (3rd Generation), 3110M, 2.4 Ghz
2GB DDR3 RAM, ~800 Mhz
Intel HD 3000 Graphics
1366x768 Resolution

I played WOW for 15 mins on low setting @1366x768. I was surprised to see that I get 80-90 FPS. I couldn't believe my eyes. I don't know if I will get that high FPS consistently.

I have 2 memory slots.

My question for you guys is "will installing better RAM help gaming performance?"

we know that APUs benefit from better RAM. is it the same for iGPUs?

I can install 2 x 4 GB 1333 Mhz or better.

I know this laptop is not meant for playing games. But if it serves the purpose why not use it? Right? I intend to use it for gaming till I buy a gaming desktop.

Your system specs meets the necessary system requirement for WOW
As it can run on Pentium then it should run smoothly and consistently on your system without the need of extra RAM
If it don't work out well then you are all welcome to use extra 2 GB RAM
By the way, laptops are meant for heating whether playing games or doing daily tasks

Hi Ravi,

I know that it can play WOW. what i want to know is

1. will installing a better RAM improve the performance?
2. will i get a consistent peroformance on this laptop? I don't need 80-90 FPS. Constant 30-40 FPs without any heating issues is what I am looking for.
