Intel HD 4000

Hello, I'm looking for a laptop for home use and eventually run a CAD and games. i've choosen a toshiba with i7 8G - 3.4 Ghz processor but the doubt is if the intel HD shared memory graphics allow to do this or I'm wasting money with this processor?

What's a CAD?

I'm currently running games on a HD 4000 while I'm saving up for a discrete card. It's alright for watching films and gaming in 720p. Expect to run modern AAA games on lowest settings though. And it won't be the smoothest experience either.
