Intel HD 4600 vs. Nvidia 9400 GT

Which would give me better performance in games out of the two, Nvidia 9400 GT or Intel HD 4600.

Specs :-

Processor - Intel i5 4430
Motherboard - intel DH87RL
RAM - 4 GB DDR3 Kingston
GPU - 9400 GT
PSU - Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 500W
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Monitor - Acer G195HQ @ 1366x768

I dont know about those two, but i suggest you increase your ram for a way better gaming performance.

4600~GT430 so intel 4600 is better, even intel 4000 is better than 9400.

Rabeel - Are you sure about this? Because my monitor only has a VGA port, motherboard, however does not have a VGA port. My 9400 GT does have a VGA port so is it worth buying a hdmi to vga or dvi to vga adapter?

spentshells - I know it needs to be dumped... am saving up the money right now for a graphic card upgrade in a month or so. Till then, am stuck with this. Same question to you as above to Rabeel.

Ram and graphics card the most important. I used to run planetside 2 on low because of my ram. It sucks 95% of my ram.

You can worry about ram after the graphics card. You'd also want to get a new monitor too if it only has vga. The 9400 is similar to a 3000. Just get a dvi to vga adapter. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814998101 Hdmi would require a converter which will cost more.

I wouldn't say ram and gpu is most important. My old c2d rig has 4gb and the cpu is the issue. Ps2 only uses about 2gb itself. Maybe you have a bunch of junk running. Gpu/cpu/ram is all important but ram is the least of the concerns.

I don't mean a program is open. Look at the number of processes in task manager, on the bottom left. Everything you install will most likely run a background process. With 4gb ram, you'd want to turn off anything you don't need and should be about 50 processes with nothing running. But I would suggest 8gb ram for gaming. It's not like ram costs much.

U can see in this hierarchy chart that ur 9400=HD3000 so u dont need to put 9400 in ur pc, use HD4600 integrated graphics they are better than 9400. If u want high quality graphics then get atleast 7750 it will be sufficient for 1368x768
