Will the Intel HD Graphics 630 with DVI connection support a 2560x1440 monitor.
(intel i7-7700)
The only thing I could find was for 3 simultaneous connections.

Solution
A cursory check of lga1151 motherboards does not show dvi based 2560 x 1440 resolution.
It would likely run at 1080P.

If you are considering such a monitor, you want a displayport connection which will run 4k resolution @60hz.

If you have such a monitor that you want to support, buy a discrete graphics card.
You will need dual link to go past 1080P.
Here is an inexpensive card that should do the kob.

Solution
I have an intel i7-7700 with asus zz270 motherboard, The intel website has a chart for running 3 simultaneous monitors with dvi,
The first 2 are at 1920 and the third at 3800. It doesn'y specify just using one monitor.
I will keep that card you suggested in mind if I get the monitor and there is an issue.

There is a difference between dvi and dual link dvi.
DVI runs up to 1920 x 1080.
It takes dual link dvi to run higher resolutions like 2560 x 1440.
Your motherboard supports a dvi or dvi-d connection only up to 1080P.
What monitor are you looking at?
Reconsider if it does not support displayport input or hdmi input.
Either will support 2560 x 1440 @60hz with integrated graphics.

I have an IOgear KLM monitor switch box with dvi-d connectors. They said it will support the higher frequencies and uses dvi-d connections. (Dual-Link video resolution: 2560x1600 @60Hz) They also offer a dvi-d to hdmi cable.
So if the motherboard isn't an issue, the hdmi cable seems like it would work.

However:
The Asus Z270 motherboard shows DVD-D max 1920
the display port and hdmi 2560

So will the motherboard be the issue, maybe that card would be required ?
Does the cards dvi-d support the higher res ?

The iogear klm switch box supports the 2560 using dual link dvi-d connections.

PC1 is an hp envy 215xt which supports the 2560 using the dual link dvi-d

PC2 The newer ASUS z270 motherboard may be an issue.
I checked with ASUS, the dual link dvi-d supports 1920, however they said to try it as it may work for the 2560
If not there are 2 options:
iogear has an active displayport to dvi adapter that supports up to 3840.
or the card you recomended above.

Thanks
