Giving Tomshardware another chance because my last posts have gone unanswered and on one I was laughed at because of my setup... :pfff:

So, I'm currently stuck with a laptop " DELL Latitude e5520m " it has an intel 2520m with intel HD3000. It was a huge performance leap from my old Pentium 4/Geforce 6200 system, and I re-played through all the games I had with amazing quality, verses 640x480 all low settings on most games.

L4D2
COD:W@W
DEAD SPACE
etc

It runs those games very good in my opinion and Mass Effect 1/2 with decent framerates 30ishFPS.

Understand I have knowledge of computers, having built that pentium 4 system in ~2007 It's just... I have no job to buy stuff lol :p

Check my other post too http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/371093-33-hate-intel-hd3000

QUESTION:

Please tell me if I can run these games, and preferably if you experienced it yourself and know how it plays.

Borderlands 1/2

Call of duty Black ops

Battlefield 3

Far Cry 2

Dead Space 2

Mass Effect 3

I need to know before I buy these games and waste precious monies. :)

Thanks.

All of those game require way to much trust me. I would have to say they will not be playable even with a res of 800x600 low settings sorry:(

I have a few of those games ill test it right now to make sure

at 800x600 all settings on low borderlands 1 is getting 25 fps drops to 5-10 at times so I would say no, As for the newer games no Im sorry , a console is the way to go for you.

You might be able to run it at low settings, but I have to ask you can afford a 50-60$ game? Then why not save and get a 360 or a diffrent laptop?

Intel hd3000 is great for gaming! It really depends on what processor its in though.

I built my system a few months ago
I5 2500k with hd3000 and 16gb ddr3

I play the following games on it.

Borderlands 2 on max settings

Dishonered on medium to max settings

Devil may cry 5 on medium

Tribes ascend on max

Dead space 3 on medium

Farcry 3 on medium

I have an intel i3 with 8gb ram and hd3000 inbuilt with the processor on HP probook 4530s and i can play borderlands 1 and 2 just fine..

i have even played Call of Duty Black Ops, nfs mw 2012, carbon, left 4 dead 2, GTA IV & GTA IV EFLC (runs fine after all updates and patches) and many other games just fine...
intel does a good job by giving inbuilt graphics such fine capabilities... you dont have to shell out another Rs 10,000 ($ 181) or so for playing these games, stop cursing research and learn more.

@cia24 its crude and plain wrong to compare an inbuilt graphics card to $100 above graphics cards... dont boast by saying you'll be lucky to play it on low settings.

I play borderlands 1 on high and borderlands 2 on normal settings... get your facts right...

maybe @ 800x600 res. Lol get your facts right

I actually finished Mass Effect 3 on my Lenovo Y470 using only the Intel HD 3000 instead of the dedicated nVidia GT 550m. I played it on mainstream or whatever the lowest graphic settings are and at native resolution; 1366x768. While graphics were not as nice looking as with the GT 550m, they were still decent enough. Naturally, the performance is lower compared to the GT 550m, but I was able to complete the game on Insanity level using only the Intel HD 3000.

I also tested the Intel HD 3000 and I managed to get decent enough performance using a mix of low and medium graphic settings. I attempted to run GTA IV, but Lenovo severely restricted the amount of RAM the Intel HD 3000 could access. Even though I had 4GB of system RAM, the HD 3000 was not using more than 50MB from what I can recall. Typically when you load your game you are standing in one of your apartments. Well, I was standing in the apartment, but there were no wall or floors so I was basically in empty space.

aktually GTA IV has a lotta glitches !
i applied all the updates. i think a total of 7 updates. and it was running ok on the intel hd3000.
but i think my case is different. i can set more than 1 gb for the graphics card as mine is an hp probook with 8 gb ram...

try then updates, i guess the floors and room dissappearing problem should go away.... also i recall , that problem occurs in gta under certain resolutions..

Hava nice day !

i would like to give you a tip u know....
people dont like negative comments that much ! well yes intel hd3000 is not a greaaatt graphics card but...

we are here to give a solution to the guy that asked the question.. u kno u can really go ahead and say that things such as game booster might get u playing the game decently or avg pc tune up performance mode might help run the game at a decent speed....

try to giv a positive comment... giv a solution ... thats wat forums are for..
i know intel hd3000 is not nvidia ...

oh my vinodh......
why on fire...............hoooooooffff....!!

let me make a point clear that cia wasn't commenting anything negative but was just sharing an opinion..
(forums are meant to share views and its upto the thread starter to judge whether he is being fed with negative comments or not)....

so shut the **** up.....

i do myself own a laptop with i3 and hd3000 and let me make myself clear again....

i too can run every title on max settings but with totally UNACCEPTABLE framerates.....

frame rates do matter and for the general crowd, frame rates below 30 are unacceptable...
things worsen due to the instability of fps on pc's....

my answer to this thread....

yeah..!! you can run any game on your config but it would be you, yourself to judge whether those games are playable or not....

for me.....nah.....heck no...;!!! :)::))
