Intel heatsink fan.

In my old machine, I have a 2.533GHz P-IV Northwood with the bundled Intel heatsink mounted on it. The fan still works, (rotates), and seems to run fast enough not to trigger the monitor, but it is getting rather noisy. Is this a bog standard fan I can get anywhere, or do I have to get something special?

Intel's bundled fan uses a clip-on frame rather than screw holes. You can often find original Intel coolers at sites like www.nexfan.com

I just browsed that site and did some comparisons with the place here in Denmark where I can buy fans. The difference in prices is enough to make a grown man cry!

250% mark up doesn't sound bad to me, you really should try Scandinavia.
