[SOLVED] Intel I-7 10510U vs 10710U

10510U - 1.8 GHz base clock with 4.90 GHz boost
4 cores (8 threads)

10710U - 1.1 GHz base clock with 4.70 Ghz boost
6 cores (12 threads)

I know that 10710U is better (a bit more expensive but much faster from what intel is saying) but I've also seen posts that some laptop with 6 cores that actually doesn't use or require 6 cores depending on the program running or multiple tasks opened up.

My question is if I were to do some simple multitasking such as running 2 videos (dual monitor) and have some chrome tabs opened up for work would Intel I7 10710U be an overkill or is it a safe investment.

Asking because there is a laptop with 4k UHD with 10510U CPU
and a 1080p FHD with 10710U CPU

would it be beneficial for me to invest in a 4K UHD laptop with lesser core processors to accomplish my task, or sacrifice the 4K UHD for a processor with more cores so that it would actually hold up when I am working/streaming simultaneously.

At most, heavy programs I would be running is Autocad and maybe Adobe Photoshop

While the 10710U is more powerful, the 10510U is enough for browsing and other office tasks. If you're mostly gonna be browsing or watching movies, both of them will do just fine. But UHD display gives the 10510U an extra advantage.
But if you're gonna be playing games or creating/editing multimedia contents(or 3D renders), the extra power of 10710U will be very handy.
