Intel i3 550 1st gen vs Amd Phenom ii x2 550 (unlocked to X4 B50)

On one hand I have Amd Phenom ii x2 550 3.10ghz which is unlocked to Phenom ii x4 B50 but i got only 3cores working and on the other hand i got Intel i3 550 dual core. So which one among these will be best for gaming.

Both are around similar performance range, but the Phenom B50 might be a little better, but also runs hotter.
