[SOLVED] Intel i5 10400F or AMD Ryzen 2600 ?

Solution
10400f / 3600 are similar. 2700 for multi tasking or games wanting as many threads but fps minimums not as high. Difficult to say what would be better, slower 8 / 16 vs faster 6 / 12. Maybe 5600x be on the cards, or Alder lake.
Needed a simple suggestion, which processor is better here Ryzen 2600 or i5 10400F ?
10400F + B560 board + 3200Mhz RAM

10400F + B560/H510 board + 3200Mhz RAM

H510 relies on memory controller, 11th gen for 3200 since that's the rated speed. 10th gen i5 will be limited to 2666. B560 though, yes can xmp above mc.

According to some users of Ryzen 3600, they mentioned its an all rounder for games, heavy task, graphics, 3D work,. While i5-10400F is less powerful than Ryzen 3600 in heavy 3D and graphics task, but in games they are somewhat equal.

I would not buy 10th gen when 11th gen is available.
Looking to next year, you may regret buying today.
12th gen will launch and amd will respond.
That will entail new motherboards, and ddr5 ram.
Budget also matter and till your requirements are fullfilled then why upgrade. I used second generation for over six years.
About 12 Gen., I'm waiting for its release to see what happens next.

Yes, 10400 is good in gaming but not in rendering and other graphical task. But according to the price 10400F is giving its best. On the other hand Ryzen 3600 is almost all rounder and specially motherboard are far better with less price as compared to 10th and 11th Gen. board.
Ryzen 3600 also support PCI-E 4.0, which make it more future proof

So just decide what you'll do more of. If true, the i5 won't be too far behind? Like how longer the wait, seconds minutes hrs lol? Least with Intel you don't have to worry about getting ram up to speed as much.
I want which is good for Gaming, 3D and graphical task with more future proof. For that Ryzen 3600 always comes up and 10400F goes behind.

They are similar, some differences here and there but not by a great deal. 3200MHz ram at least for either platform. Need z490/z590 or B560 minimum to run 3200 ram with 10400f. There's also 11400 Geofelt suggested. 5600x would be in the more future enhanced category.

Your are right, but some specifications make Ryzen somewhat more future proof, its not just about RAM Frequency. Its also about its cache, its Lithography, PCI-E support, RAM, and specially less cost and more future proof Motherboards, along with better graphic and 3D task performance. Those points make my hands going towards Ryzen 3600 more.

True, id settle for 5600x then, ipc is much faster for gaming. 5xx is the last am4 socket chipset before AMD moves to DDR5 so at this point in time future proofing is at an end roads so might as well get the best generation cpu 5xx has to offer now.
