Hello, I'm wondering if there is worth upgrading from my i5 3570K 3.4 Ghz, to i5 6600K 3.5Ghz.

Many new games are starting to use directx12, and from what I've understand it depends more on the gpu?

Will there be any significant difference with this CPU upgrade, for gaming? Also I need to upgrade my motherboard IF I need a new CPU, is it worth the money?

Specs:
Intel Core i5, 3570K 3.4 Ghz
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6GB
16 GB DDR3.

If you have a z series motherboard (z77) why not overclock it? If you're running the stock cooler you'll want a decent aftermarket cooler. That would help make up the difference in speed. You'd likely improve your clock speeds somewhere around 15-18%. It would be less expensive than buying a whole new core system, cpu, mobo, ram and reinstalling windows.

Actually, that ONLY in benchmark and it's actually around 8-10% (Best around 15-16%). In most game or user application, 3570K actually beat out even i7 when it's less optimize for multi core.

My PC setup is now working amazingly. There is no need for a new CPU at this moment :)

Good to hear. Because this is marked as solved and someone came in 1mo+ after people stopped posting I'm going to close it so it doesn't get more posts 3yrs+ from now. Keep enjoying that rig. I'm on a 3770K myself and it does everything I want. For the moment. ;)
