I have planned a PC build with the help of other community members, but after some research, I am beginning to question the processor I have chosen, the Intel i5 4440. Is the 4690k worth the extra $45, and if so, is it compatible with my current setup? If so, are there any additional parts that should be upgraded? Thanks! Here is the build itself, it will be mainly for gaming and internet browsing:

swappout out the power supply for a modlar gold unit with more wattage. the 4590 is 20.00 more but the xx90 are the new devil cannon cpu that have better tim paste and power cir from intel. also found for little more money a 280 gpu.

Solution
Firstly you wont need the cooler if your not going for an overclocable CPU, unless your doing some pretty intensive work with it. The extra 45$ will come down to, whether or not you are doing over-clocking. if that's the case then you can squeeze some extra performance for your dollar out. Comparing the performance between the two. Yes the 4690k can perform 15%ish better. But if your not over-clocking it, then save your dollar.

What are you going to use your Computer for? The reason I ask is if you are going to do things that stress your cpu such as intensive Gamming an so forth a the cooler you have chosen is a wise Idea. I say this as a computer builder and enthusiast user. Of the many computers I have built and sold only once did I let one go without an aftermarket cooler. Many hundred or more professional reviews have shown the stock coolers of both amd and Intel wanting.
