That i5 does use ddr4 but I'd get the fx8350 (that i5 is no better than any older i5). With 8 cores it's going to last decades for general use. New games won't use DirectX11. They'll use 12 or Vulkan. For 12 6 cores/threads is the optimum number. For Vulkan it's 6 or 8.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOI9OpoihMw shows a game on the fx6300, Ashes of the Singularity, written for directx 12 compared with 11. It's much faster. (You can't make that same comparison for games that were written for dx11.) So 4 cores is not good for the future.
