[SOLVED] Intel i5-9400f always runs at 100% when gaming

I’ve been using a prebuilt cyberpower gamer xtreme with a 1660 gpu and i5-9400 core for about 9 months for only games like terraria and Minecraft until I got into more intensive games like Star Wars battlefront 2 which is when it is always on 100% load. Is it just bad or is it something else?

You only get 100% while the GPU pushes out more FPS than it should, manipulate settings to lower FPS put it on ultra quality or something and you will see less CPU utilization and possibly higher FPS since your CPU will be able to use some single core boost.

6 core/thread cpu, yes very high usage can happen in newer games.

Look at task manager to see what program is using most of your CPU. I would suspect it is your more demanding games.

Most games will cause ~100% load with 6c/6t CPUs...

Normal....

I agree with above posts. Move up to a 9700f and you're good. I made the same transition when I upgraded to a 3060ti.
