Intel i5 best compare with amd phenom

how do we find i5 performance wrt phenom 2 for a gaming pc within 400$

The only better than an i5 is an i7.
Luckily much gaming will not utilize more than 2 cores so an AMD 965 will do well and even manage to beat an i3 in a few games. For games that can use 4 cores the i5 is very hard to beat.

for $400 you cant afford a i5 gaming computer. it will be half your budget.

i got to see that amd and i5 are nowhere in comparision with i7.
so now i am trying to check between Intel Core i7-3820 and Intel Core i7-2700k.
