Hi!

I bought most of the system, what's left for me to buy is a cooler and a motherboard.

These are what I bought already :

CPU
Intel Core i7 13700K / 1700 Tray

Case
CoolerMaster MasterBox TD500 Mesh White w/ctrl Case

Case Fan
CoolerMaster MasterFan MF120 Halo FAN

PSU
CoolerMaster 1000W V1000 Fully Modular

Video Card
GeForce RTX 4080 Founders Edition

Memory
DDR 4 32G (16GX2) 3200 CL16 DELTA TUF Gaming Alliance RGB TEAM

SSD Drive
A-DATA SSD 1TB XPG Spectrix S40G RGB M.2 2280

Im contemplating wether I should get this motherboard for 260$ :

https://tms.co.il/computer-hardware-components/motherboards/motherboard-for-intel?product_id=106944

Or this motherboard for 340$:
https://tms.co.il/computer-hardware-components/motherboards/motherboard-for-intel?product_id=107515

And this cooling for 137$:
https://tms.co.il/computer-hardware...ing?product_id=104562&sort=p.price&order=DESC

What Im looking for is for a good enough motherboard to support the existing components (with wifi) and for a good enough cooler to make sure the CPU doesn't get overheat even with OC.

Im also contemplating wether I should upgrade my memory to 64 GB instead of 32GB but Im scared that if I use 2 sets of different RAM I will lose the dual channel benefits so is there a way to combat this?

Lastly maybe I'd buy another NVME stick if there's a good deal on one.

Thanks alot!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You can go with either board though an ATX case with an matx board would make the case look larger with regards to the board, leaving empty spaces in said case. I'd pick the ATX board if you can't source an matx case for the matx motherboard.

As for the cooler, you're fine to work with the URL'd AIO.

That cooler is only compatible with Threadripper cpus; noted with the TR4 in the name.
Pick another cooler, or a Masterliquid Mirror without TR4 in the name.

You do not get dual channel if either Channel A or B does not have a slot populated, one of the 2 Channels is dead, or the socket pins correlating to the Channels is bent/broken.

When you mix ram, you gotta do the manufacturer's job of testing and certifying stability. There's no guarantee the mix is stable, even if the rated frequency and timings are stable - the odds are higher, but that's it.

Hi, first of all thanks a lot for the assistance!

What if I will choose this?
Gigabyte Gaming X which is ATX

Is there any merit in taking the z790 over this one?

Oh, thanks a lot, I did not know that.

I didnt find a good alternative on the site is there a good deal on that site or on amazon maybe for a cooler & motherboard that'd fit my case and CPU?

I can't comment on motherboards, as it's a personal thing, like PC cases; you have to know what features you do/don't want or need from a motherboard. It's easy to overspend on one.

Thanks a lot but there's an availability issue with these coolers in this site, I searched in another site and found the following deals:
This cooler for 143$:
https://ksp.co.il/web/item/216655

And this motherboard for 340$:
https://ksp.co.il/web/item/229322

Are these worth the price, fit the rest of my rig and would do well even with OC?

Word of warning about that cooler: you should only install the radiator at the front.
Among AIO/CLCs, there are 3 different locations for the pump, and that affects which radiator positions are ok. This cooler has it in the radiator, so a top installation will damage the pump.
So, install the radiator + fans at the front, and install the TD500's stock fans at the top.

Intel and AMD did the OCing for us already - well, most of us.
If you're not pursuing XOCing(eXtreme overclocking), then you're in sacrificial OCing territory; giving up single core performance for more multi-core, and some applications don't benefit from more multi, they want more single.
Gone are the days where a little OCing benefited everything.

@Lutfij , do you have an idea on the motherboard?

^ I've given my thoughts on that on my first post. OP hasn't stated what user is looking for in the build and/or the motherboard. Yes, you're right it's also a personal preference and I have no clue what OP wants to do with the build apart from assuming it's for gaming. That being said, OP, you went from looking at cream-of-the-crop style motherboards to the worst possible kind...I tend to steer clear of MSI boards and even more so with their Pro series, since that series is built with sub par componentry.

I'll try and make it a little easier for you, @Viel1 , look for a Z790 chipset motherboard, in an atx form factor. Getting a Z690 chipset board would probably require you to flash the BIOS to the latest in case they come shipped with an older BIOS to prevent you from dropping in a 13th Gene Intel processor into the socket.

To also round off, your location/region might be the cause of differing prices. Prices can never be the same in all regions of the world due to various socio-economic factors. You keep asking about prices, we're not located in the same region as you. I can however suggest what might or might not be good in terms of componentry/board layout.

Oh wow, I didn't realise that.
if that's the case for the cooler I'd stick with the CoolerMaster ML360L V2 Cooler and just wait for stock.

As for the OC, if Im not planning to take it to the extreme there is no merit in choosing the unlocked version of the CPU? And what about a B760 over Z790?

The main uses for the computer will be gaming, software development, and streaming.

If I'd pick a Z690 obviously I'd take one with an easy BIOS flash button, Im aware of needing that process.

As for the prices, what I meant - is it worth spending the extra 80 bucks relative to the other option with what I gain?

Judging from your posts Im not going to take the MSI board and cooler, so Im thinking about the following:
Either buy the Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX DDR4
https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Z79...76403387&sprefix=z790+ddr,aps,208&sr=8-1&th=1

Or do you think there isn't a merit in having a Z790 board if the CPU is already overclocked and I should take the B670 instead?
Also does it effect GPU OC?
