Looking for high-end motherboard for I7-2700 cpu
want Sata3 for 2 drives preferably native not Marvel chip
want PCIe x16 x 2 lanes for multiple video cards
multiple video cards for 3-4 monitors so 16 lanes per video card useful
reliable motherboard - overclockable ok, but don't intend to use it
Overclockable Motherboards are usually very solidly built and safe
multiple applications running with multiple monitors
probably 12 gig memory
Thanks for any help

Solution
Look into the following motherboards:

ASRock Z68 Extreme7 Gen3

GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3

MSI Big Bang-Marshal (B3)

The Sandy Bridge CPUs' PCI Express Bus has only 16 lanes so it physically cannot handle two graphics cards at x16/x16.

The NVIDIA NF200 chip, on the motherboards listed above, emulate x16/x16 by multiplexing the two graphics cards to the CPU. There is some lag involved to achieve this.

12GB of memory will mean that the motherboard's memory bus is operating in single channel mode (i.e. 3 x 4GB DIMMs). You're better off using 2 DIMMs or 4 DIMMs to maintain dual channel operation.

You can get 12gb with 4 DIMMs (2X4gb+2X2gb)
