Intel i7-3770k and Motherboard gigabytes GA-H61M-S2P-R3 its worthed when using GTX 1080?

Dear all,

Do you have any suggest for me, i have CPU with intel i7-3770k, Motherboard Gigabytes GA-H61M-S2P-R3, DDR3 PC 1600 (2x8Gb). I want to change my Gigabytes Video Card GTX 670 to GTX 1080. Can i use the GTX 1080 in my motherboard? will this bottleneck?

At 1440p there shouldn't be any bottleneck, at 1080p there will be but not bad enough to worry about imo. How much cheaper are the 1070 ti and 1070 for you? Might be worth it to spend a bit less.

It will have some bottleneck but you will still be able to get high FPS in all games. You can use the 1080gtx and get a monitor that supports 1440p and take some of the stress off the CPU. Going higher resolution removes some of the CPU bottleneck.

Thanks for your help. I'll try to get around the 1070ti, 1070 or 1080 with a new monitor that support 1440p.
