Hello,
I have a BIG trouble on this question. I'm looking for new RAM for my laptop, serched online i found some discordant informations.

Intel official page (http://ark.intel.com/it/products/78930/Intel-Core-i7-4710HQ-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_50-GHz) talks about Maximum RAM 32GB in DDR3L 1333/1600.

The PC producer instead, says the maximum RAM supported is 16GB. It's possible to have a producer limitation?
Also the frequences are so confusing, Intel says 1333/1600, but if i run the crucial Scan System, it gives me their 1866Hz RAMs as compatible with my system.

The Chipset on which the CPU is installed is an HM86 Brand Insyde Corp. Machine Acer VN7 791G.

Someone has the slightest idea of what i have to buy for this Laptop if i want to have the best performace attainable?

I'm using w8.1 64x. The motherboard is this-> http://imgur.com/a/S7H7h

rgd1101 yes i've actualy opened the laptop, and it has 2 slots i can confirm. Double 16GB should be placed if it supports 32GB, but the question is that if it works or not with that ammount of RAM, and if not, which frequency RAMs is possible to use.

WyomingKnott- that what i want to know precisely, if it's this the motivation for 16GB told by the manufacturer, insted of 32GB allowed by the CPU.

Thanks a lot, i think it's totaly true. Now only frequency is the unknown!
