First of all I'm not sure why you have a GTX 960 and i7 4690k together, it doesn't make any sense. Secondly for you to overclock you i7 you have to get a Z97 motherboard not an H97. But besides all those issues with your build technically yes, you could run your parts on that power supply but personally I'd be more comfortable with a 600 or 650 watt PSU. But, that PSU is only 80+ and with those parts I'd recommend something like this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438026&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

But honestly with your build you have more things to worry about than if 500 watts is enough to run your system.

All this, plus the monitor (for that money, you could get a 24'' BenQ high quality monitor), plus the crappy SSD (instead of going Samsung 850), plus the RAM (wtf? Crucial ballistix sport instead of Corsair/Gskill??).

And the cherry on top of the cake, is the low end PSU on a build that is supposed to be mid-high end.....

stuff like this makes me want to cry..

My thoughts exactly.

Straight up insulting the OP for realistically no reason is really uncalled for, guys.

We don't all begin our enthusiast lives with an endless plethora of knowledge in all things hardware. The fact that he took the time to build his own instead of paying Origin or IBUYPOWER for wildly overpriced and arguably equally as mismatched components, speaks volumes.

Anyway, in theory, yes this power supply is more than fine for the purpose. Since you won't be overclocking your processor, you're looking at around 330-360 watts continuous and through load. Now, with that said, the power supply itself isn't really of the best quality. EVGA sells excellent supplies. This isn't one of them. It's made by HEC, which isn't a company I'd associate with quality.

I'd go with this, just in case you do ever decide the upgrade the mobo to an unlocked z97 version. Otherwise there's some decent seasonic and antec units in the 350-400w range as well that could save a few bucks over this.

We were simply stating our thoughts, if you can't deal with the slightest bit of criticism than that's not on us. I do agree we were both a little hard on him but that's all I'm going to say on the matter considering this is an electronics forum.

Although I agree. Why would you buy a 4790k on an H97!? It's utter madness. My Z87X-UD3H works great with OC. But back to the question, 500W should be fine with the Maxwell Card and non-overclocked CPUs generally don't use many Watts.
