Intel i7-4790k vs intel-i7-5930k for gaming

So im doing my first gaming computer build ever. I know somewhat of the basics for which components to choose, but for gaming should I choose the processor with the more GHz (4790k- 4 core 4.00GHz) or more cores (5930k- 6 core 3.5 GHz)?

I have a 4790K that I use for gaming as well as other multi-tasking, and it does it's job perfectly. If you're mainly going to be using it for gaming, I would recommend going with the 4790K. The higher clock speeds will likely be more of an advantage than the extra cores in a typical gaming scenario. The 4790K is also a few hundred dollars cheaper as well.

The other components will also be cheaper. If you go for the 5930K you will be needing DDR4 RAM, and the a supporting motherboard as well.

The 4790k is already overkill for gaming as it offers little, if anything, above a 4690k.

The 5930k, with its multiple cores is best suited for video editing, or a similar process.

If you really feel the need to get a 6 core, have a look at the i7 5820k. It costs around the same as the 4790k, and offers 6 cores @ 3.3GHz base clock.
