I have an Intel i7 5820K CPU and I am running 32GB of ram (4x8GB). I wanted to add another 32GB (4x8GB) because my motherboard has 8 slots and it supports up to 128GB. I was about to do this but I found out that I think the Intel 5820K can only have 4 slots of memory. Not sure if I am understanding this correctly but if I am what can I do?

Solution
Four channels, does not mean four slots, it merely means the way in which the memory is accessed. Your system will pair 2x8Gb together for each of the four memory channels to have two stick banks of memory, or did I misunderstand the question?

So 8Gb + 8Gb for a 16Gb bank, and four banks, one for each memory channel.

You can run 8 sticks. You may have to lower RAM speeds due to combining 2 kits. They dont always play nice together. I believe Intel official spec mentions supporting lower frequency when all slots are populated. Having 8 modules can also lower overclocking potential due to increased load on memory controller.

Okay thanks for the answer, especially so quickly!
