[SOLVED] Intel I7-6700 Compatibility with Intel 200 series chipsets?

Will an Intel I7-6700 FC-LGA14C 3.40 GHz 8 M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151 run on an Intel 200 series chipset motherboard by Gigabyte? Or just the 100 series chipsets?

Being relatively new to building a PC, I get confused about compatible chipsets with cpus. I have this i7-6700 already and I'm just looking for a good compatible Gigabyte motherboard, if possible.

100/200 series is for 6th or 7th gen cpus, Lga1151 v1, 300 series is for 8th or 9th gen, Lga1151 v2.

You won't need a bios update to run a Skylake cpu on a 200 series mobo as they are already Skylake/Kabylake compliant.
