So recently i cganged my motherboard from an msi z170a gaming 5 to a Gigabyte z170x gaming 7 because of LAN issues, and ive pretty much adjusted, however i have some questions. First off, on my old motherboard, there was a gaming mode set up which would regulate voltages and overclocking ratios. before i even noticed it i would just simply set my CPU to 4.5 and go about my merry way. i used to play witcher 3, everything on ultra on 1920x1080 and almost never had any frame issues on any areas whatsoever (specs will be listed lower). at the worst, it would drop to about 55 in a forest with explosions. but after installing this new motherboard, ive noticed that i would get drops of 30 fps regularly. this issue was resolved by turning off certain settings in the menu, and yet at times it would still drop, just not as often. i dont know if this is due to my lack of knowledge when it comes to overclocking, specifically voltages, but i was hoping someone could throw me a bone and maybe let me know what i could set up my overclock settings to for maximum performance without risk of damaging anything.
