[citation][nom]ojas[/nom]I agree, people don't know what they're talking about here. These are SoCs. Like the ones in their phones/tablets. They CAN playback 1080p video without a problem. I HAVE a Xolo X900, i know.[/citation]
The problem with Atoms having difficulties to decode HD is because the integrated GPU doesn't have hardware acceleration for decoding H.264. This will change when ValleyView is launched.

The Atom on your XOLO 900 has hardware accelerated decoding for H.264.

But with hardware acceleration for H.264 it is only for that format!

We need some good OpenCL based decoders and decent GPU's that have OpenCL capabilities.
You can do much more with the same silicon area this way.

[citation][nom]daswilhelm[/nom]i ran WOW on my netbook with the original atom in it, so i dont see whats so bad about them.you know, cuz 5-8 fps was cool back then.[/citation]
I know you're trolling, but I actually do play Diablo 3 on 1920x1080 with an i5 2500K's on-die graphics (Intel HD3000) and get roughly 10 - 12 FPS a lot of the time.

It is playable. Barely, but the smallest upgrade I'm willing to do is a Radeon 7850, and I honestly don't think it's worth the money. I'd sooner pay for an SSD.

not trolling. i used my netbook for wow when i was on vacations. got around 8fps with it.

[citation][nom]notsleep[/nom]i sneeze when i read about intel atom. i had one atom powered eee pc a long time ago but i can safely say i'll never buy another product powered by intel atom in my life time. amd fx processors are moving toward intel atom in that regard, obsoletion.[/citation]

Picking the wrong processor/platform/system for your needs is YOUR fault, perhaps you dont be such a tight ass next time and buy a higher end product.

Atom's are fine for there intended tasks, they do well for what there designed for - cheap basic use.

I know your trolling bro :) 😀 if they are into phones it's good .. but for PC intel needs to get serious (140 mhz ?) ... obviously not something I would ever go with ... but then again everyone have their own taste ..
