Intel Motherboard with somewhat large storage requirements

So i currently have a AMD FX-8350 in a SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 and some of the SATA ports seem to be dead/dying. (One i believe doesn't work and some of the others are giving some really strange errors) So at this point was was thinking this would be a good excuse to maybe upgrade the motherboard to a Intel based on so i can get a better CPU (currently thinking a Xeon E3-1231V3 since i don't overclock).

Now my biggest issue is I currently have every single SATA port full on my 99FX board (and no PCI express ports that are enabled or not blocking a fan) and 6 of these are actually hotswap bays. (4 ssd and 2 HDD bays) I would still like to have this setup but I'm not finding an ideal board for this layout for a Z97 and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

Just in case it's not obvious, do not purchase an LGA 775 motherboard. I'm quite confused as to why someone would recommend a platform that is several generations and hasn't had a new CPU for 7 years.

The Asus Maximus VII Hero Z97 has 8 SATA 6 GB ports as does the ASRock Z97 Extreme6 and the 1231 Xeon will run quite well. If you can track it down, the ARock Z97 Extreme6/ac has 10. Now, if you want to go up to X99, you'll have choices of even more if you really need the ports.
