News Intel Nova Lake and Diamond Rapids CPU gain preliminary support in popular monitoring utility

What interests me most about these CPUs is that they should be the first desktop and server CPUs to feature APX, which is basically Intel's response to ARM and RISC-V. It cancels out several of their ISA advantages, as well as adding a couple new ones.

I think Intel has talked about a 10% IPC uplift, but this will require (only) a recompile of existing software and breaks compatibility with older CPUs. So, the pace of adoption should probably be rapid, at first, but then will slow to a crawl. Unlike previous ISA extensions, APX applies to everything, not just vector/fp performance.
