Intel Optane 900P Raid?

Solution
You can but there is no reason to besides enterprise use, in general the overhead from software raid will increase latency and reduce performance of NVMe SSD's

Perhaps n_w_a's concern's are about redundancy, not performance.
Yes, two Intel Octane 900P can be combined into RAID with an Intel's VROC key.

And RAID 1 is a poor substitute for an actual backup routine.
Any business that runs a RAID 1 for "redundancy" also has a real backup.

And if you have a real backup, and can suffer through 30 minutes of recovery...RAID 1 is not needed.

But, only he knows what he is wanting it for.

You are right, we don't know to what extent he got serious :)
Two Intel Optane 900P's could be candidates for database temporary tables/logs or ZFS's SLOG, when mirrored.

Thank you.
Actual numbers...:)

"VROC's performance is disappointing. At the very least we expected to see parity between a single Optane 900P SSD and the VROC array, but the single drive delivers much more performance in desktop applications than the array."

Why not with Intel VROC, it's hardware R5?
