Question Intel optane memory management

Yes. Especially so if you don't have an Optane drive to begin with.

I have ASUS Turbo Lan, , ASUS -CPU -Z and Intel Optane storage and Management in the list of apps.. They all have an uninstall under each of them.
If they are worth keeping I will otherwise I ask if they can be uninstalled.
I previously uninstalled the first two but no matter how I tried I got an error message in a box and forgot the contents. It seems a driver could not be found and installed?,"
I have many images in different external drives and am back to a clean install due to the Macrium images[new rescue media].
Google implies Octane should not be uninstalled, I think.

If you don't have an Optane drive, the utility for it isn't necessary. If you're not sure or aware you have an Optane drive, chances are you don't, because it's not a common configuration.

No. ASUS Turbo LAN is meant to improve ping times when gaming, but it's probably snake oil. ASUS CPU-Z is just a branded version of CPU-z. And if you don't have an Optane drive then Optane Storage is useless.

If you don't know you have one, chances are you don't have one. Optane Memory is a rare configuration to have on a given system.

I clicked uninstall beneath the three and two disappeared but the Octane one, although I do not see it anywhere, has it's name in the app entry spot it was in before. I guess there is a registry remnant?
Next install I will not check it so it will not install. There is a box that appears and there are a lot of things like I mentioned above, Once I by passed the box of entries not knowing what they did and I was missing a driver I could not find.. I do not know which to check or not so I will use common sense like not checking Norton and the three in this thread.

Asus Z390 motherboards found to be automatically installing software without user consent > NAG

Instead of supplying all drivers upon installation, Windows 11 supplied this Asus utility. W/o it Windows is missing drivers which forces users to use the utility or Armoury Crate or Asus site and looking.

I think all drivers should be provided by Windows when using the ISO or MCT.

Microsoft can't do that, because they don't know what computer Windows will be installed on beforehand. Even through the MCT, they can't assume the computer that ran it is the one that Windows will be installed on.

I finally got the drivers and I’m all set now .
The normal driverswere not with thenormal installation using either the iso file all the media creation tool. I have installed here and tried windows 11 more than a couple of times and each time it reported drivers were missing.

Hi am using my phone now.
I posted a link to a discussion about the fact that all drivers were not included and there is something going on with Asus and windows 11. When back at the computer I will see if I can find the link on this thread
