intel optane + WD blue worth or not?

hi, i have 2 1TB HDD on my PC 1TB WD blue (main) 1TB WD green (for extra storage) i was thinking on buy an intel optane (16 or 32) to speed up my main 1tb blue. But i'm not shure if it's worth. and if it's what capacity should i get?

this are my PC spec in case needed:
asus strix z270i
i5 7400
16gb ddr4 2400
asus gtx 1060 6gb
1tb blue caviar + 1tb green caviar
sentey steel nitro 550w 80plus

People who use 128 or 256 GB drives udually don't use them for all their data but just as system drive. That mean OS boot up become fast as is swap and running programs from the same drive. Running programs from a HDD used as additional storage though if one need that will of course be slow.

If you add an Optane drive to your boot HDD (it can only be used with the system drive. So any secondary or higher HDD will not get any boost) your Windows boot times and launching of often used programs from your HDD will definitely be speed up.

If you just have one M.2 slot you'll of course use up that one and if you get an SSD as boot drive in the future then if it's M.2 the Optane will do nothing and if it's SATA it will likely make it perform...

problem it's a 250gb ssd it's too small and a 500gb ssd in my country it's like 3 intel optane 32gb (and thats too spensive even 1 intel optane it's spensive if not noticeable dirence on boot and load times)... so for the moment i'm not interested in a ssd. i simple want to know if it's a real noticeable diference on boot and load times (in general windows, programe, games) with the optane pair with a hdd if not i don't want to waste USD $110 (that the price of a intel optane in my country, a 500 gb ssd cost around USD $ 320. thanks to the high import in my country. hahaha)

I "accidently" ordered one figuring it could cache any HDD in my system but as it only boost both drives and I have a SATA SSD as boot drive it wouldn't do much unless I switch to Windows on HDD. Windows on HDD + Optane would likely be slower in total but I would also get a boost of any other programs on the HDD (games) and I would get more room on my SSD for whatever programs or content with small files such as images or text files for snappier access than on my HDD. I wish it could be used for a secondary HDD instead though but no luck.

Of course 32 GB can store more small file segments but if you just want to risk a small amount of money and get some boost you could get the 16 GB version. The 32 GB version is for those with larger needs (run more programs?) But also cost more.
Alternatively you can get a 128 or 250 GB SSD and run Windows from that and maybe often launched programs and live with slow HDD.

The Optane will never speed up massive directories of small files and defragmentation for instance I assume since it can't and won't hold all that data. So it can never make a whole HDD fast but what it can do is to cache often used tiny segments of data and serve them not only much faster than an HDD but also even faster than an SSD. For larger file segments HDD aren't terrible but SSD beats them of course (except Intel 600? )

I don't necessarily want to recommend you to get one but I also don't think they are completely useless and that ssd are the only way. Lots of people buy ssd simply to boot windows faster and optane will do that too.

I don't know how well 32 GB boost a massive 4-8 TB HDD but if it did a decent work for application starts then compare the price hep that size of SSD ... however as said movement of files and de fragmentation and such will still take up to many hours on the HDD.
