Intel P4 CPU 3.0 upgrade problem

So when i want to replace my old CPU (intel celeron 2.68) with a new one (intel pentium 4 3.0) it shows on start up while testing memory that has recognized cpu, but when windows start up it won't let me do anything on my PC, i reset bios with pull out and back CMOS battery and I can't even update time, it shows me everytime different blue screens with different codes.
Sprecs: motherboard: GA-8IPE-1000G
3 GB RAM
nVidia 7200 256 MB
Power: 500w ( brand new)

So when I back my old CPU everything seems to be fine. Why is that happening, how can i set new CPU without problems?

Are you sure the CPU is good? As long as it's on this list http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Gigabyte/GA-8IPE1000-G(Rev_4.x).html it should work.

Go here and see if i supports it. it may need a BIOS update

Make sure you get the right BIOS. Since there's a rev 3 and 4 mobo
