Intel P67 chipset with ivy bridge Processor

I am building a computer using a motherboard with an Intel P67 chipset. I also plan to use the Intel core i5 3350P. I need to know if I will be able to make this build with these parts. Part Picker is telling me that i might have to update the bios before using the processor. Is this true, or are these parts compatible? Here are links for the motherboard and processor.

P67 was made for sandy bridge, so yes you would need a bios update. Z77 was made for Ivy.

If you are buying new don't get that motherboard. If you have that board and are upgrading the CPU you will need the newest BIOS version for it to work. If you are buying new get a board that supports Ivy out of the box. B75, Q75, Q77, H77, Z75 or Z77.

Some older motherboards did need a BIOS upgrade to support Ivy Bridge. The CPU support list for your motherboard show support for that processor since BIOS version 3602.

There is nothing wrong with the p67 chipset other than lacking video I/O ports

As I said above, get a motherboard with one of the chipsets I listed.
