I'm just throwing this out here, but I would appreciate any comments people might have... I notice that the mac supports this cam out of the box using the USB Video Class universal driver.... And MS has one of those built into windows 10 . With the streaming video docs and the datasheet for the chipset the cam uses, shouldn't it be rather simple to write an .inf driver for this old camera using the new drivers and the original .inf and datasheet / source for maybe the linux drivers?

Solution
If you're trying to install the device drivers on Windows 10, you can do so in compatibility mode, ie. Right click installer>Compatibility tab>Windows Xp(or whatever the drivers original version is), from the drop down menu. Click apply and then try installing in an elevated command, i.e Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
