You should check for Intel roadmap on the web. To answer your question, Intel will introduce a new socket within a few weeks/months, then they will probably soon introduce a P4 with AMD64 extension (they don't call it AMD64, but it will be 100% compatible with AMD64).

I'm not an Intel expert, so I hope some GURU here will give a more detailed answer to your question.
