I know its not at all a good combo. But let me just explain. My pc specs are:
10gb (8+2) of G.skill ripjawsx 1600mhz (running at 1333mhz) limited by mobo or processor i donnow.
Msi h61m p20 g3 mobo
Intel pentium g2020 2.9ghz

I'm planning to buy a gtx 750ti, nothing changes in specs except this graphic card.
My question is how it will behave regarding games. Can i get decent fps?

Solution
The gtx 960 would be a better choice. The performance is very similar, but the 960 is more energy efficient. If you plan on upgrading your cpu in the near future, you should get it.

I forgot to mention. My screen is 1600x900, not FHD. I'll not be changing it, i think it'll add up to get a few more fps right?

What if I choose gtx 760 instead of 750 ti? No big deal to get it for me. Becuase I want to get a decent playable no. of fps in games, atleast with all set to medium in games at 1600x900. Please remember that I'm about to change only graphic card for now. No changes in specs.
