Hi I am buying a new pc and my friend said that Intel Pentium G4400 would be trash.
But we r not pc experts.
The specs on the pc are
ASROCK h110m mother board
Intel pentium g4400
120GB SSD
Corsair 600w modular psu 80+ bronze

Add ons
Wifi Card
8GB ram
240 SSD
GTX 1060 6GB

I generally only play osu, LoL, Dead by Daylight.

"Good"? Not particularly. If you already have the board etc, the G4440 is about as entry level as you can get.
As an extreme budget choice, it's fine.... but when paired with a 1060, it strikes me as an odd pairing.

It'll 'work', but in games that can utilize >2cores/threads, it's going to be quite underwhelming.

As a bare minimum, I'd aim for an i5-6400. All depends on the price though. I've seen i5's of that era sell for ~$40.... I wouldn't spend much more than maybe $50 on one.

I understand but would it run the games i play listed on top?

The core is too weak for the graphics card and is trash. Pentium is(generally) even weaker than i3! Consider upgrading to a core i5-9600k(priced at $230 usd in my region) and consider getting a nVidia RTX 2060 SUPER($480 usd in my region). And to answer your question, the graphic card would run your games, but your cpu "bottlenecks" or slows your graphic card down. So your system can't run your games.

If you want only to change CPU not the rest of the spec, I would go with the best cpu you can get. That is Core i7-7700K for that motherboard or little less expensive Core i5-6600K .
But, I doubt there is supply for those CPU as a new if you considering buying whole configuration in one package.

Did you consider buying ryzen instead intel?

This mobo should be able to take kabylake CPUs so you should at least try to go for the g4560 that has hyperthreading enabled.
The g4400 will be ok for the games you listed but anything a little more advanced will run very slowly.

I wouldn't get lower than a Pentium g4560 because it has hyper-threading which actually makes GTA5 very playable at around 60-70fps at 1080p on a GTX 1060 3-6GB with mostly high settings. You will be limited to DDR4 2400Mhz ram. If you have access to a Ryzen 3 1200 or 2200g, they would be cheaper and far better CPUs. They're faster than the Pentium and have 4 cores compared to the Pentium's 2 cores 4 threads with hyper-threading. The Ryzen CPUs also allows for faster memory which is better for using the Vega graphics in games on the Ryzen CPU if you don't have a graphics card installed. The Ryzen 3 1200 is around $60 US right now with the Pentium being in short supply and double the price or more.

"run", definitely. Run well might be another question.

Consider upgrading to a core i5-9600k.

Not compatible with the board.

And to answer your question, the graphic card would run your games, but your cpu "bottlenecks" or slows your graphic card down. So your system can't run your games.

Those specific titles will still "run" on a dual core.

If you want only to change CPU not the rest of the spec, I would go with the best cpu you can get. That is Core i7-7700K for that motherboard or little less expensive Core i5-6600K .

Beyond the additional boost clock speed, the K CPU's make very, very little sense here - on a locked chipset.
Not to mention the fact you'd typically need to buy a cooler on top of the price of a used CPU.
The locked variants of the i7s (6700, 6700T, 7700) would be great chips and a very good pairing with a 6GB 1060, but I'd expect if the OP is considering a ~$30 used Pentium, i7 money is probably out of the question.

OP, depending on the budget you're working with, it might make some sense to pick up a cheap but modern platform. For example, a Ryzen3, B350 or B450 motherboard and 2x4GB DDR4 3000MHz should be somewhere right around $150 USD, or local equivalent.

Gives your an upgrade path for the future....
