I understand but would it run the games i play listed on top?
"run", definitely. Run well might be another question.
Consider upgrading to a core i5-9600k.
Not compatible with the board.
And to answer your question, the graphic card would run your games, but your cpu "bottlenecks" or slows your graphic card down. So your system can't run your games.
Those specific titles will still "run" on a dual core.
If you want only to change CPU not the rest of the spec, I would go with the best cpu you can get. That is Core i7-7700K for that motherboard or little less expensive Core i5-6600K .
Beyond the additional boost clock speed, the K CPU's make very, very little sense here - on a locked chipset.
Not to mention the fact you'd typically need to buy a cooler on top of the price of a used CPU.
The locked variants of the i7s (6700, 6700T, 7700) would be great chips and a very good pairing with a 6GB 1060, but I'd expect if the OP is considering a ~$30 used Pentium, i7 money is probably out of the question.
OP, depending on the budget you're working with, it
might make some sense to pick up a cheap but modern platform. For example, a Ryzen3, B350 or B450 motherboard and 2x4GB DDR4 3000MHz should be somewhere right around $150 USD, or local equivalent.
Gives your an upgrade path for the future....
