Just bought the parts to my first gaming pc and I thought I did my research well but I came across an article that said these two might no be compatible due to bios drivers. People were saying its really hit or miss. Anyone with more experience than me know if these two will work together?

Thanks

Edit: Just swapped the MSI H110M Gaming motherboard for the MSI B250M PRO-VDH. let me know if thats a solid combo

It should work perfectly right out of the box on the MSI B250, you did right in changing the board.

It depends if the motherboard is updated. Some H110 motherboards come updated from factory. The H110 motherboards made before Kabylake came out need an bios update to work with Kabylake. My Asrock H110m-HDV motherboard came updated from factory so i didnt need to update the bios of my motherboard with my Pentium G4560. If your motherboard came not updated then you need to take it to a computer shop and they will update the bios for you. For me I did not need to update the bios of my H110M i was lucky.

The problem with the 100 series motherboards is they are really for existing sky lake users, who are looking to upgrade to kaby lake later on, but quite right as you said before, they require a bios update in order to run a kaby lake CPU, which you need a sky lake CPU for, as newer boards are coming off the production line, they are coming off with the latest bios supporting kaby lake, however, it is hit and miss as to whether you get one of the newer revisions, or one of the old boards without the latest bios on them.
