Intel Pentium G840 stock cooler for an Intel Core i5-2310

I bought a few years ago a desktop with the G840, now I have bought an Intel Core i5-2310 and I was wondering if I can keep the cooler, would it be enough?

don't think so. you may need a better one to keep the cpu cooler and quiet

Hi Maugusto, thanks for your quick reply

I couldn't help it and I tested the current cooler . Idle it's 38/40c, after 15 minutes running the stress test tool called heavyload the temperature was stable at 71c. I know it's a bit high but don't you think it's still safe?

If not, can someone recommend a cheap cooler that can do the trick? I don't want to spend too much money on that computer

it says that it's ok up to 77w, my CPU is 95w and yes, I already saw that it's a very cheap cooler lol

Thank you maugusto, I'll keep an eye at the temprature and if stays high most of the time I will purchase a new cooler 😉
