So I juuuust got my Intel pentium and installed Windows 8.1 and I can't overclock it at ALL. It's really making me mad because I bought this CPU just so I could overclock it. I am running a MSI pcmate z97 motherboard but no luck. To even boot into Windows 8.1 I have to set it to default clock. Please help :(

You should not be altering the clock (BCLK) to start with.

Start with just two changes, set the Voltage to Override, from Auto and the value of the Override Voltage to 1.200v, and set the multiplier to 40. The system will boot. (almost certainly)

Use CPU-Z to check that you have been successful and run OCCT, and/or ASUS Realbench to check out how your CPU is working. All the software I've mentioned here is available for free, on-line.

Let us know how this works.
