Seeing how Haswell comes next month, should we expect to see SB and IB prices to drop? As much as I would like a new system built around Haswell, IB would be great with a nice price drop no?

Solution
When the i5-3570k was released the i5-2500k dropped $5 from $225 down to $220 based on Newegg prices. The price have never changed since then unless Newegg had it on sale or offered a rebate for it.
Let me put it this way.

The core 2 duos have stayed the same price for around three or four years now; £70-£80 for the low end models.
The core 2 quads have increased in price exponentially.

I'll go ahead and say:

No. Also, the processors will go up in price once intel punts out a new socket.

AMD is the company that drops prices on their CPUs. Intel never does. You're better off buying the newest chip at a holiday or in a special deal.

I bought my q9550 three years ago for $300. That's the price of an i7 for half the performance.
