I think it would still be cheaper to build two machines for that perpose, than one with that CPU xD.

If, however, the sub-60% utilization proves to be accurate, this means that the 12-core i9 has a decent amount of headroom to work with.

It might also imply that an overclocked 8-core, 16 thread Ryzen 1700 might be enough to handle the same workload for around $300. : P

Seriously, though, Skylake-X is broken. For some reason, Intel seems to think someone else will fix it if they make it shiny enough.

A few months back 6 Cores was plenty for Gaming, now you need double that to have some headroom.

Best plan ahead, get the Threadripper; and two more jobs (ask if you can work from home and do virtual work, for real Currency). 😉
