So I had built a PC for my son a few years ago for him to just learn and play around on after I upgraded my GTX 770 to a 1070. I figured he could play basic games with it. Got a cheap Pentium G4400, 16 GB ram, 240GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, and a cheap H110 mb. The cpu was definitely bottlenecking the gpu, but I figured I would just upgrade both. I got the AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF and a RX 5500 XT 8GB. I swapped everything out and expected to have to configure hard drives and stuff in the BIOS. To my shock, the computer booted directly into Windows 10 with no issues at all. Is this something new? I haven't seen this before. If I take my pc apart to clean it or do anything, it seems like it resets itself and I need to set the XMP profile, overclocking and even which drive to boot from. I have a 4930K and Asus X79 Deluxe board. Just wondering if its new or I was just lucky.
