Hello Everyone! Okay So Without Wasting Time I Just Wanted To Query On Why, When I Set The BLCK To 182 With The Multiplier On x22 It Goes Back Down To x21 When Turbo Boost Is Disabled. But When Turbo Boost Is Enabled It Stays At x22
At The Same Time I Would Like To Know Why My Multiplier Is Stuck At x22 Only. I Have Managed To Reach 4.03GHz With My Multiplier At x22 Of Which I Feel Is Not Correct/Sufficient When CPU-Z Shows A Value Of (9-26) For The Multiplier Of Which I Assume Means I Can Go Up To A Maximum Of x26.
Or Does The Multiplier Even Matter As Long As You Increase BLCK ? I'm Quite Lost Because I'm Trying To Get My PC To Reach 5000 Primes Per Second I Think It Is And I'm Stuck At 4950 And Can't Go Any More. What Baffles Me The Most Is The Fact That When I Run The CPU At 3.75GHz It Hits 4950 Easily But When I Increase It To 4GHz It Struggles To Hit Even 4500. Max Temp While Benching Using Stock Cooling Is Round About 70°C-79°C Provided It's Only Running The Benching Software. So I Can't See It Being A Thermal Throttling Issue. I'm Out Of Ideas As To What To Do Now Because Most OC Sites Say To Disable Turbo Boost But When I Disable It It Runs Even Slower Than With It On.
**System**
Intel(R) Core™ i7 860 Processor
6GB DDR3 RAM (2+4)
1TB Sata HDD
Intel Stock Cooling CPU Fan
P55A-UD4P Gigabyte Motherboard

Why in gods name have you put the BLCK that high? Why not just use the multiplier? Do not look at the multiplier range in CPUZ, its wrong. Look at what you have set multiplier to in bios.

"Does The Multiplier Even Matter As Long As You Increase BLCK ?"

Man, you should get busy and read a overclocking guide or two, so that you know what you are doing before you destroy something in your system :)

The Whole Point Of This Was To Find Out Why My Multiplier Changes According To Circumstances And Not Stick To What I Set It To.
I Set The BLCK That High Because My Multiplier Doesn't Stick.
So If I May Rephrase,
Why Is My Multiplier Stuck/Limited To x22
Why Does It Decrease With Turbo Boost Disabled
But Sticks When Turbo Boost Is Enabled... ,?
And Again Most OC Guides Say To Disable Turbo Boost, But When In Fact It Seems To Be Working Perfectly For My System And Keeps The Multiplier To What I Set It To.
Why I Asked If The Multiplier Even Matters Is Because Of How Its So Dynamic That I Figured I Have No Real Control Over It Because Of My Motherboard And/Or BIOS
