intel undi pxe-2.1 (build 083) error???

hello.so my cousin has a problem with his pc.he was gaming and all of a sudden his pc turns off..then when he turns it on this error appears to him : intel undi pxe-2.1 (build 083) and he cant start up windows.he disconnected and connected the HDD again and the same showed.then he disconnected completely the HDD and the same appeared again.i read that the HDD might be dead or something.can u help me find what the problem is?

This indicates that the PC BIOS is trying to boot via the network adapter because it can't find a bootable device anywhere else attached to the system. Your LAN is the last device in the boot sequence, the BIOS has looked everywhere else without success.

A classic symptom of hard drive failure.
