Okay so i'm aiming for a 1070 8GB if I can but I will defiantly be getting a 1060 6GB is I don't have enough. I'm Currently running a FX 6300 with 8GB System RAM, HD6870 1GB and a non overclockable motherboard.

My question is what is the best option with having a 1060 or 1070 CPU wise? I know the FX 6300 wont be able to change a 1060 or 1070 fully and want to move over to intel at some point.

What is the best Intel CPU I can get but is cheaper than £200 that can support a 1060 or 1070 decently ?

£200 for CPU only, not the MOBO and CPU

Thanks

They're both much faster at multitasking. Despite having 2 fewer cores, each of those cores is twice as fast, and they don't have the ~20% module penalty the FX has. In both single- and multi-threaded loads, an i5 6500 is roughly twice as fast as the FX.

My opinion, the 6500 is the better buy. Its clockspeeds are a good bit higher.
For under 200? You are probably looking at the i5-6400 or 6500 to handle those GPUs. The 6600 is a bit over 200. do you plan on doing some overclocking, or anything like that? For dirt cheap, the i3-6100 can do well, but don't expect some intensive multi-tasking.

Okay what i5 would you recommend ? a 6400 or 6500 ? I will like to overclock a little in the future if possible

i5 6400 and 6500 okay at multitasking compared to the FX 6300 ?

It depends on what you doing. Browsing and and word processing is fine, but rendering, and trying to create 3D models, no. As Ecky said, the i5-6500 is your best buy under $200. You will also need an LGA 1151 motherboard. I know you said you did not want to include it, but it is worth nothing. Choose between H110 (mATX), B150, H170, or Z170. The Z170 is only useful if you are getting a K CPU, just giving you all of your options.
