Hello,

I have an ASROCK B75 Pro3-M Mainboard and Windows 10 installed.(clean install)
Windows 10 recognizes the intel USB 3.0 Controller and installed a Driver for it.
But no USB 3.0 Port is working neither front nor back.(Only USB 2.0 Speed)
I tried to install several drivers from Win 7 to Win 8.1 but the Setup is not accepting the Windows version. (even with compatility mode)
Does Anybody have an idea how to resolve this?
(btw. USB was working on Win 7 and Win 8.1)

best regards,

Paul

Solution
Hello,

Try the following;

1. Remove your power supply or charger plug from PC. Then Restart PC.
2. After restart, connect your USB devices to any USB ports. It should be able to detect any USB devices from this point on.
3. Now you can plug in power supply to laptop or PC.

If you are receiving USB Device Not Recognized error,

“The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.”
Or
“One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.”

Try the following;

1. Open RUN (Windows Logo + R) and type “devmgmt.msc” and click OK.
2. Now expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.

4. You will see an Unknown USB device (Port reset failed) with yellow sign in Universal Serial Bus controllers.
5. Now right click on it and click Uninstall to remove them.
6. Now restart your PC and re-install the USB drivers again. That’s it.
7. If not working, then Uninstall all devices under Universal Serial Bus controllers one by one and re-install.

Solution
After win10 update problems with USB 3 and USB 2 drop out would not find ports. drives switching. of tried all sorts of drivers. Found out win10 power plan was not giving out enough power to USB. Switch to the Max power and everything started working. Have a lenovo laptop and a desktop machines both were having USB nightmares so before going down the driver route as I did please check out windows power plan

Where did you find this setting? The only options I found in the 'power plan' are for screen off and sleep.

Thanks in advance

first i would make a restore point. then go to power options, click on high performance,
next change plan settings, will take you to edit plan settings, click on advanced power settings
will take you to power options.. you will see usb settings with plus sign
click on settings and enable ok (you have the options to restore power plan options )
depends on the driver updates
i have had a usb falsh drive wiped because of outdated drivers. no promises this will work,,, also in device manager right click on hub will show power
management that lets you computer to turn off usb to save power.

My solution is very simples:
1. Open RUN (Windows Logo + R) and type “devmgmt.msc” and click OK.
2. Now expand system devices
3. Delete the usb3 intel (something, i don't remember and check to uninstall the driver as well)
4. click on the pc name on the top of the list
5. click the check for hardware changes (it's the magnifying glass)
6. And then expand usb
7. voila. that's it.

Sorry about my english, but i'm from Portugal and my windows is in portuguese. Feel free to translate better in English thetechnical terms.
Hope i can help.
